(Un)Filtered Truths
Blank pages never scared me
Till the lines turned into tightropes
And I no longer felt free
But tied to high hopes
Hoped that words would fill the void
Left after each of our goodbyes
Sometimes I still listen to your voice
Yet it’s best to leave it all behind
Beautiful pictures embellish ugly truths
And your body pays for your rent
But no beauty can fix a heart abused
Or make amends for permanent absence
So I decide to mute your illusion from my news feed
The truth is I rather live in my unfiltered reality
