Insomaniac

A person’s livelihood rests squarely on

their productive

potential

which

wasted by sleep deprivation grinds to a

screeching halt between

the moonlit and overcast mountains

of blankets.

Conveniently,

bright light protrudes from neon lit sources

leading to a weirdly vivid imagining

of a robot´s soul.

Tiptoe to the fridge and find

a way to stay (a) little longer -

fend off sleep!

It is the enemy of all things pleasant.

It lures you into false dreams

it is fake news!

Emancipate yourself!

Stumble through the world

sleep drunk if you must

but do not sleep!

Become what is expected

or you'll find yourself fighting

and tired

and lost

because the system

no longer makes sense

and you

are falling, falling, falling behind!

Every hour that you rest

is an hour wasted.

Have you learned nothing?

Why then are you sleeping?

Telling others to rest?

Telling them that you stayed in bed like

suddenly

it is a good thing?

No, no, you cannot possibly find peace,

what will the forever taunted say?

And disengage.
