Yo TBA, what’s good? Here I am, Ken – a lazy but overtly ambitious student of British and American Studies at the University of Hamburg. Being born with a (literally) unverbalizable soul and raised in an exotic universe, in addition to my admiration for Langston Hughes and W.H. Auden, has inspired me to write poetry about my surreal vision of life. However, I’m thinking of trying to write something new, more experimental in the future. My debut open-mic performance at Spoken Spaces was approved by our Pat, who encouraged me to join TBA.
Being a student is just my part-time job, my main job is being such an unfailing daydreamer that sweet-sweet fantasy is my (preferably vegan) butter and bread.
You know what? Almost every time I meet a new random person in Germany, the first question they ask me is “Where are you from?”. FYI, I might come from a particular country and appear with a particular ethnic background, but the fire is all inside my soul, and the rainbow has coloured my race.
And by the way, another fun fact about me is that, “I don’t drink coffee, I drink tea, my dear” (Sting. “Englishman in New York.” …Nothing Like the Sun, A&M, 1987, #dearMLAcitationorwhateveryournameisyuckfou.).
