1. Who are you, what do you do/ study?
I’m Josie, I’m 20 and I’m a singer-songwriter. I also study British/American Studies at the University of Hamburg.
2. What or who inspired you to start making music?
I was 12 when I got into Taylor Swift and her music at the time. Her second album “Fearless“ was the first album I ever really listened to in regards to lyrics, melodies, structure and the way it communicates emotion and I pretty soon knew that I wanted to be able to do the same thing. When I discovered a video on YouTube of a live performance of her song “Hey Stephen“, I wanted to learn how to play it on the guitar, so I did. Just a couple of months later I started writing my first songs.
3. How long have you been playing an instrument (and which) or singing?
I was twelve, so I’ve been singing and playing for eight years. I just recently learned how to play the Ukulele as well and I have very, very basic skills on the piano.
4. How would you describe your style?
I would describe it as Acoustic Indie Pop, with some influences from Country, Rock and a tiny bit of Blues.

5. Tell us one random fact about you.
I can’t stand still while brushing my teeth so I wander around in circles in the bathroom or walk around my apartment. I also like to do my laundry or clean up while brushing them so sometimes it takes me 15-20 minutes until I’m done with it.
