The Untamed Heart
My fingers are tingling,
my mind is itching,
longing to obey my untamed heart,
that screams in beats,
turns up the heat,
before everything falls apart.
I can feel the sensation,
the arousing revelation
of blood rushing through my veins,
feel the fire in my cheeks,
my mouth opens to speak,
but silent I remain.
Till I can no longer hold in,
my vocal folds belting,
craving to utter the truth.
So I open my eyes,
throw off all disguise,
lay open my feelings for you.
Thus, from the land of dreams I awake,
my peripheral vision yet opaque,
my untamed heart blazing in royal blue.
But you are no longer in sight,
my disclosure just a fading voice in the night,
oh, how I wish you’d only knew.
